Neville Alleyne, M.D. - Chairman of the Board of Directors - Dr. Alleyne is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and is the Director of the Orthopaedic Spine Center at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, CA. Dr. Alleyne's practice is focused on treating a broad spectrum of spinal disorders, and he has established a multi-disciplinary approach, using the latest minimally invasive techniques, to relieve pain and restore spinal stability and mobility. He founded and served as chief medical director for several start-up companies developing spinal barriers and instrumentation using pedicle screws, cervical plates and artificial discs, including ProSpine, NAS Medical, and Smartdisc Inc. Dr. Alleyne is the inventor on numerous published patent applications related to spinal methods and devices. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the California Orthopaedic Association and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Alleyne performed his fellowship training in total joint arthroplasty and spine surgery at Harvard University-Massachusetts General Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA. Dr. Alleyne completed his residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital in orthopaedics and general surgery in 1988. Dr. Alleyne received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1983 and was an undergraduate at Columbia University in New York, NY. M. Ross Simmonds - Chief Executive Officer, Director - M. Ross Simmonds served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President for Alphatec Holdings and Alphatec Spine, in San Diego, California. Prior to joining Alphatec, Mr. Simmonds was Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and Miller Children's Hospital. From 1989 to 2004, Mr. Simmonds held various senior executive level positions with Interpore Cross International, a biotech bone graft and spinal implant company that was acquired by Biomet. Mr. Simmonds is a medical device industry expert with a proven track record in implementing strategic plans, launching new products globally and building long-term business relationships. He received his Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University. Mr. Simmonds is fluent in Spanish and has served on the Industry Advisory Council for "Orthopaedics Today." Stuart A. Young, M.D. - President, Director - Dr. Young is a board certified anesthesiologist who has practiced anesthesia and pain management since 1987. Dr. Young is a member of the Anesthesia Service Medical Group (ASMG), a single specialty group of 200 physicians located in San Diego. Dr. Young has served as a member of the ASMG Board of Directors since 1996. From 1995-2001, Dr. Young served on the Board of Directors of Integrated Specialist Medical Services, a privately held anesthesia practice management company that grew to serve over 400 physicians in four states, when Team Health Corporation acquired it in 2001. Dr. Young completed his residency training at the University of Pennsylvania and the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Young did undergraduate work at the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1982. William R. Taylor, M.D. - Chief Scientific Officer, Director - Dr. Taylor is a board certified neurological surgeon and an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery in the division of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Taylor's practice is focused on the neurosurgical evaluation and treatment of spinal disorders, using a broad range of spinal instrumentation, with special interest in endoscopic surgery for disc disease as well as minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Taylor has published in scientific journals and has been invited as a distinguished lecturer or panelist to numerous meetings and conferences and is a member of numerous scientific and professional societies, including the American Medical Association, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Prior to joining the UCSD faculty in 1994, Dr. Taylor completed his residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY and his specialty training in spinal surgery at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, NY. Dr. Taylor earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Joseph Mussey - Director - Joe Mussey was recently appointed as Chairman to the Board of Directors at US Spine. Mr. Mussey contributes nearly thirty years of outstanding corporate leadership experience to US Spine, being responsible for the exponential increase of sales and shareholder value with his previous companies. Mr. Mussey served as President and Chief Operating officer of Interpore Cross International driving sales from $30 million to $100 million during his tenure. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cross Medical Products, Inc., diversifying the company into multiple segments, which forced sales growth from $.3 million to $13 million in 1997. A graduate of the United Sates Navy Officer Candidate School, Mussey served in the United States Navy for four years, holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from Harvard University. Robert R. Anglea - Director - Robert Anglea, who most recently served as President of PerMedics, Inc., brings to SpineOvations’ Board more than 26 years of corporate leadership experience with healthcare technology businesses, including two Fortune 500 companies and three successful launches of emerging healthcare organizations. Prior to signing on as President of PerMedics in 1998, Anglea served as President of Strategic Direction and as President of Kendall McGaw Pharmaceuticals, where he was the corporate founder of that company’s injectable pharmaceuticals business. Early in his career Anglea held various management positions with American Hospital Supply. In his career to date, Anglea has been directly involved in more than a dozen acquisitions (from both sides of the table) of health-related organizations.
